Syper Payments is hiring a

Product Designer

London

Who is Super Payments?

We are revolutionising the traditional online payment & shopping experience. Our goal is simple: we believe that customers and retailers are underserved by the current financial system and deserve a better and fairer deal.

We are about empowering customers to shop smartly and earn instant cash back and for retailers to extricate themselves from prohibitive fees and increase their sales.

Led by former CEO of Funding Circle, Samir Desai, we have raised $30m of funding from leading venture capital and angel investors including Accel, Union Square Ventures and Localglobe, in one of the largest ever pre-seed funding rounds in Europe.

Our Values

Our culture is our DNA. it defines our mission, our goals, how we operate and communicate on a day to day basis, and how we attract and hire great talent:

Be customer obsessed.

  • Everything begins here. We only succeed if consumers and retailers succeed.
  • Faster, better, cheaper for the customer.

Move fast.

  • Build, iterate and learn quickly - always think of the automated solution first.
  • A slow decision is worse than a wrong decision.

Own it.

  • Think big, start small and power through problems to get it done.
  • A small group of committed people can change the world.

Be open.

  • Build open, honest and respectful relationships with each other.
  • Transparency and integrity builds trust.

Win together.

  • Great work cannot be achieved alone. Bring the humility and leave the ego at the door.
  • It’s better to have a hole than an arsehole.

Product Designer

We see User Experience as a spectrum. All the way on the left we find pure research, moving into the middle we find experience design, then on the right we have pixel-pushing UI design. All roles along the spectrum are separate from each other, however we collectively design opportunities to answer user needs.

You most likely sit in the middle of the User Experience spectrum and lean slightly to the right - you’re interested in consuming research & data, translating those needs into slick usable experiences which can be rapidly user tested, improved and then described to our developers in order to ship a feature.

We’re looking for a UX/Product designer who has experience with high-frequency ecommerce conversions via app or web (or both!). You’ve likely worked with a business who thrives on optimising conversions through simple-to-understand interactions which drives customers towards a checkout, or creative methods to simply explain a new idea without distracting the customer and turning them off from making a payment.

Your ability to create a new interaction, an experience change or a meaningful copy update which improves results is more important than your ability to completely visually redesign a screen - think usable forms, interactive elements to explain a checkout method and off-platform helpful communication nudges to help drive customers closer to conversion. To help guide your design decisions, you’ll have direct access to fantastic developers, a dedicated data team, real customers (with real opinions) plus marketers and other designers. We’re a close-knit bunch who all share a common goal.

You will own the experience of your workstream and be responsible for ensuring that our customers are showing signs of easily understanding our product through conversion metrics, you’ll identify opportunities for improvement and work on exciting new enhancements as you see fit.

We’re customer-obsessed and user research is at the core of everything that we do - we don’t move on hunches, but rather we prove that our designs intuitively enrich the experiences and create excitement amongst our customer base.

You will be responsible for:

  • Owning the experience for your workstream and bringing our products to scale.
  • Creating wireframes and delivering prototypes for user testing.
  • Generating & consuming user feedback to better understand customer needs.
  • Finding creative ways to solve our customer’s problems - usability, findability, accessibility & excitement generators.
  • Working with existing UI patterns, develop wireframes, flow diagrams and specs which are ready for development.
  • Communicating your design ideas and prototypes to the developers in your app’s team.
  • Rationalising your designs with development to be an experience - ensuring that what’s brought live matches your vision.
  • Staying relevant with competitor products and industry trends.

Requirements and skills:

  • Proven experience as a UX designer.
  • Familiarity with interaction design, information architecture and how they’re applied to webapps.
  • Be proficient in modern design software - we love Figma, Miro and Protopie, however we’re keen to know what’s in your workflow and can bring to our DesignOps.
  • Excellent communication skills - you’ll rationalise your designs to our business team, developers and fellow designers.
  • Experience with Fintech, Banking or Finance applications is desirable, but not essential.

It’s worth noting that as part of the interview process, we would love for you to take us through an interesting piece of recent work to describe how you came to your design decisions, plus to show us your messy working boards.

Our Benefits - here’s a few and more to come ….

  • Tax advantage Share Options
  • Choice of Laptop - Macbook or Windows
  • Flexible working model
  • Work from home set up
  • Learning & Development opportunities
  • Contributory Pension Scheme
  • Team lunch and social evenings
  • Your birthday off, plus one Revival day
  • Referral bonus (£2,000)
