Product Designer

Role

You will focus on bringing to life Pockit's vision to serve 25 million of people in the UK underserved by the traditional financial services. Working as a part of a cross-functional team you will be responsible for managing various strategic projects and seeing them to delivery/completion. The successful candidate will get exposure to all parts of the business and have the opportunity to get involved in the designing and executing product roadmap.

The Job

You will be joining Pockit as our very first in-house Product Designer. This is a great opportunity to build from the ground up and work with the VP of Product to set the direction for what design means for us. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with Product, Engineering and the wider org. Ideally you will have experience from within the start-up / scale-up space, enjoy working autonomously and defining processes as you go.

What you'll do

  • Design user journeys and UI/UX for mobile + web apps
  • Collaborate with product & engineering through discovery & delivery
  • Hypothesis testing & rapid prototyping
  • Run usability and user testing, customer interviews
  • Maintain & develop a design system

Who you are

  • Demonstrable experience designing for app / mobile web
  • Demonstrable experience applying UI/UX best practices
  • Pen&paper + Sketch is a must; experience with prototyping tools is a big plus
  • Demonstrable ability to quickly get up to speed in a new domain/market
  • Self-starter with willingness to “own” all aspects of the design process
  • Strong desire to work in a fast moving, start-up organisation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly conscientious
  • Coachable
