Job Description
ESG Flo is in search of a passionate Product Designer based in New York. As the only product designer, you will spearhead our platform’s product design, which aims to simplify ESG reporting.
Our goal is to make ESG data collection and reporting easy, efficient, and enjoyable. We help sustainability teams focus on driving meaningful impact in Environmental, Social, and Governance domains rather than getting bogged down with reporting tasks.
How did ESG Flo come about?
ESG Flo emerged from Bain & Company's Venture Incubator, where advisors consistently observed their clients struggling with sustainability compliance and data collection. Our software optimizes data extraction, validation, and transformation, to make ESG reporting seamless. We were founded in 2022 and are headquartered in New York City, receiving seed round funding from Bain & Company and other top VCs.
What will I be doing?
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the ESG Flo platform and user experience. Together with the product team, you will turn complex regulatory frameworks and the accompanying complicated data collection processes into user-friendly, intuitive interfaces.
You will see projects through from inception to completion, working in close collaboration with our product, engineering, and customer success teams.
To be more specific, you will:
- Lead Product Design for a Seed-Stage Company:
- Continuously refine and improve the Product Design process, including constantly revisiting the way Design works with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.
- Be proactive in arranging customer research user calls and leading competitor research as required for product design development.
- Lead design review and collaborate with Product, Sales, and Customer Success to get user feedback as early as possible.
- When appropriate, participate in defining the company’s brand and marketing strategy, including contributing to website design and other marketing materials.
- Design Amazing Software
- Jump in with solutions for user pain points quickly iterating on designs and ideas on paper and whiteboard with Product and Customer Success.
- Champion the showcasing of unfinished products and swiftly gather and integrate feedback for continuous improvement, in an MVP manner appropriate for a stage seed company.
- Be comfortable quickly designing and iterating early versions based on your current knowledge of UIUX patterns and best practices in the absence of direct customer feedback.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering on every decision, from significant architectural decisions down to the smallest interactions that make a big difference.
- Design paper sketches, interaction models, wireframes and prototypes that are fit for purpose e.g. Discovery, Feedback gathering, Engineering handoff, etc.

Qualifications
- You bring a minimum of 2 years of experience in software product design
- Experience in the B2B SaaS space
- Proficiency in collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary teams
- Adept at prototyping rapidly at all levels of resolution including paper sketches for quick idea iteration and feedback
- A deep knowledge of modern web UI patterns
