Cash App is hiring a

Product Designer

San Francisco

Company Description

It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 47 million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world’s relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible. This is our mission, and it’s why working at Cash App means so much more than a job.

Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We’ve been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.

Job Description

We are looking for a Product Designer to join the Merchant Product design team. Our team is trusted with delivering merchant products and experiences that help create a more equitable economy for all.

You will work on projects from problem to pixel. You will be given the opportunity to own impactful projects, develop your craft and evolve your career as a product design professional.

Our product designers take a product, feature, or experience from problem to production. This includes vision setting, designing solutions, prototyping, overseeing implementation, and collaborating with other designers, researchers, writers, product managers, analysts, and engineers.

You’ll be instrumental for building a new wave of platform products spanning across Square, Cash App and Afterpay with a highly supportive team. You’ll be given the opportunity to scale existing successful products, while also scoping and launching net new projects to the ever expanding Merchant ecosystem.

  • Deliver thoughtful solutions, execute on feedback, and optimize design proposals
  • Establish trust through high quality design execution
  • Implement the principles driving our design system and brand experience

  • Experience as a primary contributor to continuous streams of work
  • A passion for turning complex problems into simple and engaging solutions
  • Experience with the end-to-end design process - from identifying customer needs, jobs-to-be-done and pain points to delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Solid UX capabilities, strong visual design competency, and product thinking for mobile-centric experiences
  • Comfort with an iterative design process that includes looking for and acting on feedback
  • Experience being a strategic partner to product teams and idea forming
