Why Product Design matters

As Zeffy is entirely product-led (we have no sales), user experience is key to our growth:
Self-serve activation: Over 10,000 new accounts created by organizations every month. Every step matters to convert them into active users.
Conversion on payment forms: With 600,000 monthly payments and $100M processed monthly, better design directly means more funds for nonprofits.
Revenue model: Entirely based on voluntary contributions. Exceptional design can completely change the game.
Product Led Adoption: To maximize our impact to 50,000+ active users, the product must remain simple and intuitive, even as it grows more powerful and feature-rich: a true design challenge.

About the role

As a Senior / Staff Product Designer, you’ll lead the charge in making our platform more intuitive and enjoyable for nonprofits. As we value ownership and simplicity, you will work directly in duo with the dev owner of each project to turn product challenges into simple, effective solutions that enhance the user experience, driving activation and engagement.
More precisely you will:

  • Use user research to build convictions and intuition about our product.
  • Design intuitive solutions aligned with our product vision, refining prototypes through user feedback.
  • Establish UX/UI standards for consistent, high-quality design.
  • Mentor other product designers to support their professional growth (Problem understanding, user research, prototyping, UI/UX and Collaboration).

🚫 What you won’t be doing:

  • Pixel pushing without purpose: Every design choice at Zeffy has a direct impact on our users. You won’t be creating unnecessary visuals without understanding the problem first.
  • Designing without feedback and collaboration: You’ll work closely with teams and users to create solutions that truly work.

Preferred experience (qualifications)

  • 5+ years of product design experience, with a background in fast-growing startups or working on products with large-scale impact.
  • Experience leading design projects end-to-end, turning complex problems into simple and enjoyable solutions: be ready to share your portfolio!
  • Proven track record of working efficiently across teams, managing challenging trade-offs, and delivering impactful product design solutions that drive business results.
  • Expert in design tools like Figma, with a solid understanding of prototyping and user testing.
  • Ability to lead by influence and inspire the whole design team to aim for exceptional design standards.

  • Mentoring experience, helping junior designers grow and develop their skills.

Recruitment Process

  • Recruiter Call (video, 45min) - Initial conversation to get to know each other and confirm mutual alignment
  • Immersion Interview with CTO (video, 1.5h) - Focus on business sense, user empathy, and product judgment through past experiences
  • Paid Case Study (5h total: take-home + 45 min presentation, €350 compensation) - Evaluate strategic thinking and solution design
  • Cultural Interview with leadership (in-person, 1h) - Assess company culture and values fit
  • Team Lunch + Reference check - Final step for both sides to confirm the fit
