Manager, User Experience Design
Vanguard’s Workplace Solutions Marketing Team
Vanguard’s Workplace Solutions Marketing team is seeking a UX design leader to guide a team of user experience design professionals. As part of the broader Marketing Design team, you will lead the design, implementation, and governance of user experience across the company’s B2B public-facing web platform and related digital spaces. Acting as a player/coach, you’ll balance strategic leadership with hands-on design contributions, leaning into project work and strategy where needed. You’ll manage the UX design team to deliver innovative, user-centered solutions that align with business and marketing goals, while driving consistency, quality, and strategic direction.
Core Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Hires, evaluates, and supervises the UX team.
- Provides coaching, training, performance feedback and fosters an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
- Connects with other design managers to ensure a strong team culture.
Player/Coach Design Engagement
- Defines and communicates design direction for large-scale initiatives based on our brand standards, Constellations, UX best practices, research, testing, and data.
- Actively contributes to design work, including architecture, prototyping, and visual design.
- Supports the team in solving complex design challenges and elevating project outcomes.
- Encourages evolution of the industry and AI technologies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partners with cross-divisional teams, senior leaders, and IT to deliver cohesive user experiences.
- Collaborates with Art Directors and Head of Design to ensure consistency of design across all platforms.
- Works closely with our Senior Website Product Manager to shape the future-state vision and strategy for the web, with a focus on delivering bold, forward-thinking experiences that elevate our digital presence.
- Presents design solutions to senior management, project teams, and stakeholders.
What it Takes
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience, including at least 2 years in UX/UI design.
- Expert in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with Adobe Experience Manager.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Undergraduate degree in a creative field or equivalent experience.
This role is part of our hybrid work model with Tuesdays – Thursdays required in our offices to foster collaboration and relationships. On Mondays and Fridays, our crew will have the option to work remotely, or continue working from our offices in Malvern PA.
