Your mission
As enterprises prepare for an AI-driven future, the way people design, build, and run business processes is changing. UiPath is looking for a visionary and highly skilled Principal Designer to help lead this next chapter. In this role, you will shape the design direction of our products at a system and experience level, ensuring our work solves meaningful problems and scales across the platform. You will lead design initiatives, mentor designers, and work closely with Product and Engineering to turn intent into shipped outcomes. Above all, you will bring a strong design point of view—helping teams make better decisions, move faster, and raise the bar for what great design looks like at UiPath.

We partner closely with Product Managers, collaborate early and often with Engineering, and stay deeply connected to our customers. We believe in exploring ideas early, learning quickly, and using modern, flexible, and AI-forward design approaches to deliver high-quality experiences with confidence.
What youll do at UiPath
Product
- Define and drive design strategy that balances customer needs, business goals, and long-term product vision across multiple surfaces and journeys.
- Partner closely with Product Managers to clarify customer intent, explore multiple directions early, and ground decisions in real-world signals rather than opinion alone.
- Work side by side with Engineering to reduce the gap between design and implementation—sometimes designing directly in code or prototyping in ways that translate cleanly to production.
- Design with an end-to-end mindset, ensuring features connect into cohesive, intuitive journeys across the UiPath platform.
- Embrace new ways of working, including AI-assisted exploration, rapid prototyping, and emerging approaches such as vibe coding, to quickly test ideas and learn what works.
- Advocate for user-centered design by validating ideas early and following through after release to learn from real usage and feedback.
- Maintain high standards of design quality, accessibility, and consistency, focusing attention on the moments where thoughtful design can truly differentiate the product.
- Stay curious and forward-looking—experimenting with new tools, technologies, and workflows that improve both speed and craftsmanship.
People & Culture
- Lead and inspire designers through clear vision, strong design judgment, and hands-on mentorship.
- Create opportunities for senior designers to grow their influence, deepen their craft, and take ownership of meaningful problems.
- Set expectations that encourage collaboration, experimentation, and shared accountability across Design, Product, and Engineering.
- Help build a culture where designers feel trusted to try new approaches, learn quickly, and raise the quality bar together.
- Attract, retain, and develop top design talent while proactively removing obstacles that slow teams down.
What youll bring to the team
- Bachelors degree in product design, communication design, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience designing and shipping digital products, with strong proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows.
- Experience designing AI-enabled products, with an understanding of how model behavior, uncertainty, and trust influence user experiences.
- Willingness to work in new and evolving ways—using AI-forward prototyping, rapid iteration, and exploratory approaches alongside more traditional design methods.
- Strong product thinking and the ability to connect individual design decisions to larger systems, journeys, and outcomes.
- Comfort collaborating deeply with engineers and product partners to move ideas from concept to reality quickly and thoughtfully.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence direction at multiple levels of the organization.
- Experience in business automation or enterprise software is a plus but not required. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States for this role.
