We're looking for a Senior UX Designer
to shape the player experience of our upcoming game. In this role, you'll drive the design of intuitive, engaging systems that support gameplay clarity and usability, from HUD to menus to in-game navigation.
You'll work cross-functionally to prototype, test, and implement UX that feels responsive, intentional, and scalable, all within the context of a fast-paced game.
Responsibilities
- Design and prototyping: Develop wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes that align with game mechanics and player needs
- Collaboration: Work closely with game designers, engineers, UI artists, and producers to integrate UX into features and systems
- Interaction and System Design: Lead UX design efforts across HUDS, menus, control schemes, and gameplay flows from concept to implementation, focusing on interaction design
- Accessibility and inclusivity: Ensure designs are usable by a wide range of players, accounting for diverse needs and preferences
- User Research & Competitive Analysis: Conduct user testing sessions, gather player feedback, and iterate to optimize player engagement and satisfaction. Perform competitive analysis to identify best practices and opportunities
- Design system & Documentation: Contribute to creating a scalable design system for UX/UI and maintain clear documentation to support team-wide consistency
- Visual Integration: Partner with UI artists to build a cohesive, functional, and visually clear interface design language
- Production Awareness: Break down experiences thoughtfully to help teams ship value incrementally, making smart trade-offs between fidelity and functionality
- Team & Culture: Champion UX thinking throughout the studio and help mentor junior UX designers as needed. Playtest with both the studio and design team to review and iterate on UX in-game
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in UX Design for AAA games, ideally including shooter or RPG titles
- Strong grasp of PC and console interface design, with deep understanding of interaction across controller, mouse, and keyboard
- Demonstrated Unreal Engine 5 and UMG experience in a professional production environment
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar prototyping tools
- A portfolio showcasing high-quality UX solutions for complex systems, including HUDs, menus, and in-game flows
- Deep understanding of gameplay systems and how UX influences comprehension, engagement, and accessibility
- Comfortable scoping and estimating UX effort for features or systems
- Experience designing interfaces on PC, and Console, with strong understanding of interaction modalities across controller, keyboard, mouse, and touch
- Ability to interpret player feedback, usability data and iterate effectively
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across disciplines in a fast paced, iterative environment
- Passionate about games, with a sharp awareness of current emerging UX trends

The estimated base pay range for this role is: $120,000-$160,000 USD
