ADAS/AD HMI UX Design Engineer

The ADAS/AD HMI UX Design Engineer is accountable for all feedback and intuitiveness of user interfaces within the vehicle and infotainment systems. Specifically focused on feedback design (visual, auditory, haptic), intuitiveness, effectiveness and overall feature logic. Responsible for the robust development and management of system logic and ensuring specification alignment with customer functional objectives, electrical engineering specifications and graphical assets. The main objective of the activity is to design the user interaction of features and to provide clear and robust specifications to supporting teams and suppliers. The design of each feature and logic shall be coherent and aligned with all the other documents involved in the HMI domain. Will be involved in the validation of feature logic as well as working directly with the HMI validation teams to verify implementation aligns to requirements.

Job Duties:

  • Create clear and robust specifications
  • Participate in meetings:
    • Present new design proposals
    • Share HMI issues related to the HMI features
    • Present benchmarking data to be compared to Stellantis execution
    • Present user test results and give HMI directions
  • Propose solutions to improve the user interaction with the features and achieve higher targets
  • Lead change request activities
  • Support User Test team in order to create user tests to validate new design solutions
  • Support validation team during validation phases
  • Support for opening and solving validation issues
  • Support Performance Lead during vehicle assessments

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in one of the following fields: Engineering, Ergonomics, Human Factors, Physiology, Biomechanics, Biomedical, Human Kinetics, Psychology, Cognitive systems or other related fields
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in one of the following fields: Engineering, Ergonomics, Human Factors, Physiology, Biomechanics, Human Kinetics, Psychology, Cognitive systems or other related fields
  • Experience with user centered design and requirements development
  • Understanding of electrical engineering systems and development processes
  • Experience with Figma, RTC, JIRA, Photoshop, Visio, Doors, Adobe XD
  • Good organizational, teamwork and problem-solving skills, ability to meet deadlines amongst changing vehicle designs
  • Detail oriented, flexible and has the ability to prioritize and facilitate alignments globally
  • Understanding the benchmarking of competitive vehicle designs for usability and ergonomics, which includes heuristic and objective measurements
  • Experience with vehicle life cycle design and development
