As a User Experience Researcher within the Homes UX Team you’ll be responsible for undertaking the research and user testing activities. To help define and develop new portal features for our mortgage brokers, to transform the service we offer and the way in which we do business together. This position requires an excellent customer focus, with the ability to plan, prioritise and execute research aligned to strategic business priorities. It also requires excellent communications skills to be able to clearly articulate findings and actionable insights. The role will also support the wider communication of the new broker features and enhanced broker experience.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Work closely with UX designers, feature teams and product owners, sales and business experts to gather information about the project requirements and establish key research priorities.
  • Plan and conduct user research studies, using a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods, to understand both broker and customer behaviours, motivations and trends.
  • Prepare discussion guides, recruitment, moderate or note take research sessions if appropriate.
  • Map broker and customer journeys, technological developments, undertake competitor benchmarking to help understand the wider landscape we are looking to transform.
  • Ability to analyse research findings, share key themes and trends, combine with internal / market data, make recommendations to influence business decisions and drive the project forward.
  • Share results and insights with relevant stakeholders, so they are clearly understood across different audiences from project members to senior management level.

What you’ll bring:

  • Extensive business experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of a range of user research methods (i.e. moderated interviews, usability testing, surveys) and able to apply appropriate methods for different strategic priorities.
  • Ability to analyse data and translate into clear findings that help inform decisions.
  • Create and deliver clear and actionable research reports and presentations.
  • Flexibility, adaptability with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently and be delivery focused.

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Experience of planning and running usability testing and using design tools such as UserZoom, Attest and Figma, Figjam.
  • Background knowledge of Mortgages, Channels & Segments or Business to Customer markets e.g. Mortgage Intermediaries.
  • Working practice of customer design thinking strategies that can be utilised to help identify insights to make our customers' lives better.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills to challenge assumptions and increase consensus.

What else you need to know:

This role is based in Milton Keynes. This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. We want our people to thrive at work and home, and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles). If you apply for this role in this location, it’s important you consider your travelling distance, time and cost from your home to the office location.
