Job Title: Product Designer

Location: Alpharetta, GA

Employment Type: Full time - Hybrid

As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for leading the design process for our suite of specification products, utilizing your expertise in Lean UX methodologies and design systems. You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders, to create intuitive and compelling user interfaces that address the needs of our users while aligning with our brand identity and design principles.

As a Product Designer in the Collaboration Product Line, you help shape the future of construction technology and collaborative design by creating focused digital tools for specification management and project collaboration.

Key responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the end-to-end design process for the assigned product line, from research and ideation to prototyping, user testing, and final implementation.
  • Collaborate with the design system team to maintain and expand the design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the product line and the wider ecosystem of our SaaS platform.
  • Apply Lean UX principles to run workshops, align teams on problem-solving, and rapidly iterate designs using user feedback and data-driven insights throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct user research activities, including interviews, surveys, and user observation, to gain valuable insights into user behaviours, pain points, and motivations.
  • Collaborate with the product team to consolidate findings, identify patterns, and create actionable recommendations for the design team.
  • Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to validate design decisions, using the results to make informed design improvements.
  • Create interactive prototypes and set up usability tests to gather quantitative and qualitative feedback from users, guiding iterative design improvements.
  • Work closely with the product team to interpret event tracking data gathered from the product line.
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to align design strategies with business goals, ensuring a seamless integration of design with engineering and product development.

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Product Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful product design projects and user-centric design solutions.
  • Proven experience working with Lean UX methodologies and Agile development processes.
  • Strong expertise in managing and utilizing design systems to maintain consistency and efficiency in the design process.
  • Proficiency in Figma, or similar design tools.
  • Proficient with research and usability testing tools such as Dovetail and Maze (or similar) to efficiently organize user research data, conduct usability tests, and gather actionable user feedback on prototypes.
  • Ability to collaborate with the product team to interpret event tracking data and incorporate insights into the design process.
  • Ability to identify and translate the difference between good design and realistic real-world implementation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding the construction industry or related fields is a plus.
