Our four pillars – Banking, Capital, Platform, and Ventures – combine to support tech businesses of all sizes and stages, making us the go-to backer of Canadian innovation. About Mydoh
Help build the future of youth money management. Mydoh is the app that empowers kids and teens (ages 6–17) to learn money skills through real-life experience. Over 240,000 families already trust us to help build financially confident young Canadians. We’re growing fast, and we’re just getting started.
What is the Opportunity?
We’re looking for a Product Design Lead who is equal parts visionary and builder — someone who obsesses over every detail, thrives in ambiguity, and knows how to turn bold ideas into real-world experiences that youth and parents love. You will lead a small, highly capable design team and shape the future of youth money management in Canada. You set the bar high, drive clarity and execution, and champion craft excellence.
What will you do?
You’ll lead a small team, define design strategy and elevate craft — while rolling up your sleeves when needed:
- Support the Design Vision & Strategy
Help shape and communicate a compelling design vision that advances Mydoh’s mission and product strategy. Inspire and align stakeholders through future-forward concepts and data-informed storytelling. - Design for Measurable Outcomes
Partner with Product, Engineering and Data Analytics to define, influence, and track OKRs and KPIs. Communicate trade-offs and decisions with clarity and confidence to move teams forward on performance-driven outcomes. - Raise the Bar on Craft
Uphold an uncompromising standard of detail and quality across UX and UI. Ensure brand, visual consistency, and research insights reinforce excellence across platforms. Ground design decisions in data and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to uphold quality assurance throughout the product lifecycle. - Scale Design Systems & Process
Evolve our scalable Design System. Improve operational efficiency through streamlined workflows and effective cross-functional handoffs. - Test, Learn, Iterate
Champion continuous learning — validating assumptions through research, experimentation, and behavioural insights. Act as a strong advocate for our users, ensuring their needs and motivations drive product decisions. - Lead People & Design Culture
Manage and mentor a small team of designers — growing skills, confidence, and autonomy. Foster a culture of growth, feedback, and creative ambition. - Collaborate Across the Business
Build strong, proactive partnerships with Product, Engineering, Data and Strategy, Payments, Brand, Performance Marketing, Research, CE and Ops. Drive alignment, unblock progress, and ensure cohesive customer experiences. Influence without authority through trust, communication, and credibility.
What You Bring
Must-Haves:
- 6–8+ years designing impactful consumer-facing digital products with strong mobile UX experience
- 1–3+ years managing or coaching designers on a small team
- A portfolio demonstrating strategic design leadership and measurable product results
- Experience designing for conversion and optimization — from defining success metrics to tracking data and improving them across mobile and/or web
- Expert in Figma and modern design workflow tools
- Ability to drive clarity in ambiguity, influence without authority, and build trust with stakeholders
- A driver mindset — you push work from great idea → polished delivery → real impact
- Passion for raising standards, simplifying complexity, and getting things done
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience in fintech, banking, youth products, or gamified learning environments
- Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive design practices
- Comfort with motion or illustration to drive playful engagement
What’s in it for you?
We are building something completely new in a dynamically changing industry. It’s never been done before. You have the opportunity to leverage the significant resources of our business and brand to make that change happen in the real world.
In addition, we offer:
- A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits
- A dedicated manager who will support, coach, and work with you to develop an individual career growth plan
- Support from other Leadership within our Design and Research team for additional coaching opportunities
- An agile, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team
- The tools you need to stay connected, work collaboratively and design efficiently
