The Product Design Lead is responsible for transforming complex healthcare challenges into intuitive, accessible, and engaging software solutions that improve the therapeutic process for both providers and patients. In this role, you will be a strategic partner, helping to enhance the team's impact and maturity while ensuring design quality and consistency. The position is a unique opportunity to shape the company's design culture, establish a foundation for user-centered design, and play a key role in making user experience a core strength for Raintree.
Key Responsibilities
- Influence the shape of products and solutions within your assigned domain with research and data while executing designs using high-quality wireframes, user journeys, cross-platform interactive prototypes, and intuitive visual designs.
- Develop intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing user interfaces that align with our design system and the healthcare industry’s best practices.
- Ensure a consistent user experience across all platforms, including responsive designs for desktop, mobile, and tablet.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate business requirements and user needs into functional, user-friendly designs.
- Conduct iterative usability testing and refine designs based on user feedback and data.
- Collaborate with UX Researchers to plan, execute, and analyze user research activities, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and competitor analysis.
- Collaborate with product and development teams to ensure research insights are effectively incorporated into the product development cycle.
- Track and analyze key metrics, such as user satisfaction, task success rates, and other usability indicators to continuously improve the user experience.
- Lead and mentor other designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design environment.
- Lead key design team practices and rituals, taking full ownership for your assigned domain.
- Present and communicate design concepts and research findings to stakeholders, including executives and team members, in a clear and compelling way.
- Support design reviews and collaborate with engineers to ensure high-quality implementation of designs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices, especially as they relate to UX/UI design and healthcare.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years previous experience designing for practice management/clinical care solutions or SaaS B2B/B2B2C products in an adjacent industry.
- Experience operating within a non-linear, iterative design and research framework, such as Design Thinking Methodology.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with product, engineering, and marketing.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in both UX and UI design, particularly in the healthcare or B2B SaaS space.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools, with a preference toward Figma.
- Experience with user research methodologies (e.g., usability testing, interviews, surveys) and executing research initiatives.
- A strong understanding of human-centered design principles and accessibility standards.
- Experience with design systems, pattern libraries, and component-based design.
- Experience designing software for both desktop and mobile products.
- Experience mentoring junior designers.
Preferred
- Previous experience designing solutions that utilize AI technology.
- Familiarity with front-end development building blocks (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- A degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or a related field, or a certification from a reputable course provider (e.g., Google, Designlab, CareerFoundry).
