The UX and Digital Design team is seeking an experienced UX Designer to enhance the consumer experience and drive conversion across Frontgate’s ecommerce platform and other digital touch points and products. The ideal candidate will be a great cross-functional collaborator, with at least 5-8 years of experience using iterative human-centered design process to research, ideate, design, test, and ultimately, validate new digital experiences with consumers. We’re looking for someone who is forward thinking, has the ability to work across UX and content, and has a true passion for design. From concept to delivery, you’ll work with digital merchandizers, developers, analytics specialists, marketers, copy writers, and other designers to translate consumer insights into intuitive and harmonious digital experiences. You’ll be an integral part of a fast-paced ecommerce team that’s passionate about our brand, our consumers, and human centered design.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and the Design team across diverse initiatives, manage multiple projects, advise on research methodologies, and proactively steward excellent outcomes.
  • Contribute to all stages of the design process, from research through concepting, design, prototyping, building, and QA.
  • Effectively apply consumer insights to a variety of digital solutions including journey maps, UI flows, components, systems, and wholistic experiences.
  • Celebrate and execute low to high fidelity prototyping and UX research approaches.
  • Act as a steward between the Design, Tech, Creative, and Digital Merchandizing teams.
  • Champion and advocate human-centered design process and systems thinking.
  • Build positive relationships with teammates and partners, actively communicating on project status.
  • Collaborate with the Creative team to develop digital experiences and content that bring the Frontgate brand to life across digital channels.
  • Able to blend pragmatic functionality and aesthetics ensure the best customer experience.
  • Able to work quickly and develop multiple concepts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to clearly communicate ideas and support and sell your design decisions.
  • Work independently on projects, but also have the ability to drive the process with a passionate team to create optimal solutions.
  • Strong leadership and accountability: asking the right questions up front, establishing goals and KPIs, working within a multidisciplinary team, delivering the product on time, and understanding the results.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in design or comparable work experience in a UX design related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on UX and digital content design.
  • 2+ years of experience applying human-centered design approaches, methods and tools to solve complex problems.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing UX design and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable as a design generalist with a diverse toolkit to understand, build, and communicate an end-to-end experience (e.g., Low-fidelity sketching, user journey mapping, wireframes, prototyping, creating experience or design principles).
  • Expertise in Sketch, InVision, Adobe CC, and other prototyping and design tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong collaborator who embraces ambiguity, designs with curiosity and empathy, and brings a positive, optimistic mentality to the team.
  • Experience presenting and pitching to executive audiences a plus.
  • On the cutting edge of digital services, technology and behaviors.
  • Strong ability to utilize design systems and UI patterns.
  • Strong sense of graphic design with knowledge of typography, photography, and color theory.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and content management systems.
