Polaroid International BV are hiring a

UX Designer Connected Products & Apps

About us: iconic brand, tiny company

Polaroid was founded in 1937 by one of the most seminal innovators of the 20th century, Edwin Land. His motto was, “don't undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly impossible.” In 2008, Polaroid shuttered its last factory but a group of diehard fans came together as The Impossible Project to save instant film. Over 10 years later that startup acquired what was left of Polaroid and today we’re again a small group of people passionate about empowering creators to change the world in the name of Polaroid.

Job Summary

At Polaroid, we’re reimagining how instant creativity comes to life across both physical and digital worlds. As a UX Designer, you’ll make hardware and app experiences feel seamless and magical.

What you will do

As part of our product and design team, you’ll shape how our connected cameras, printers, and digital tools are experienced by millions of users worldwide. This includes:

  • Designing clear user flows, menus, interaction hierarchies, and icons for devices and embedded UIs.
  • Creating app experiences that support connected products, such as pairing, onboarding, creative tools, and settings.
  • Making hardware and app experiences feel like “one hand”—seamless, consistent, and instantly recognizable as Polaroid.
  • Partnering with engineers, product managers, industrial designers, and other creatives to bring ideas from concept to launch.
  • Prototyping, testing, and iterating on designs to ensure simplicity, usability, and delight.
  • Helping shape design systems that connect our physical and digital products into a unified experience.

What you will bring

  • Solid UX fundamentals and experience designing for both hardware interactions and digital app experiences.
  • Comfort designing embedded UIs (e.g., menu structures, button mappings, screen states) and app UIs (e.g., creative tool layouts, onboarding, status screens).
  • Strong skills in wireframing, prototyping, and documenting detailed user flows, paired with a keen eye for design craft.
  • Ability to think beyond one-off products, helping create the “one hand” that makes all Polaroid experiences feel unmistakably connected.
  • Curiosity, humility, and a user-obsessed mindset.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, you’re able to work closely with PMs, engineers, industrial designers, and other designers.
  • A hands-on, detail-oriented approach balanced with the ability to simplify complex systems and make them broadly relevant.
