UX Manager, Payments and Commerce

San Mateo, CA
The Payments and Commerce team at PlayStation is responsible for building and scaling payment products, modernizing the platform, driving improvements in cart, checkout and payment processing, while maintaining compliance across all platforms.
As a UX Design Manager, you will lead a team and play a pivotal role in developing innovative and intuitive ways to pay while delivering value to customers. You’ll leverage technology and data driven decision-making to deeply understand our customers, drive business impact, and improve the PlayStation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performing and distributed team of designers that impact a broad array of products
  • Balance the priorities of many product teams and projects, ensuring short-term needs and longer-term strategies are satisfied
  • Communicate priorities and status transparently across the organization
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with a diverse group of design, product, and engineering teams
  • Care for a team of talented humans, participating actively in their career development through individual coaching and corporate performance management processes

Your team will

  • Work closely with product and engineering counterparts to create and iterate on a seamless checkout experience, from cart to payment and beyond
  • Collaborate with designers across the company to encourage consistency through design system adoption and enforcing standards while also accepting feedback and innovation

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years experience as a design leader in a large product design organization
  • 5+ years experience as a designer, with demonstrable experience working within a monetization, commerce or payments space
  • A portfolio that showcases thoughtful, simple, deliberate intuitive design, with extraordinary interaction, motion, and visuals
  • Strong communication skills to clearly articulate your concepts and rationale
  • Experience crafting web and mobile products
  • Experience collaborating with Product Management and Engineering counterparts
  • Experience working with research and insights
  • Experience working with Figma, including components, auto-layout, prototyping, tokens, animation, plugins, etc
  • Ability to work unsupervised in an agile environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with decentralized or global teams
  • Experience crafting for a global audience in multiple languages
  • Experience with consumer gaming or media products
  • Experience designing for TV or handheld platforms
