Your impact:

We are seeking a Senior UI Developer to join our growing engineering team, building the front-end experience for a sophisticated legal technology review platform. In this role, you will design and implement intuitive, high-performance interfaces used by legal professionals to manage and review complex document workflows. You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to deliver features that matter in high-stakes legal environments where precision and reliability are paramount.

What the role offers:

  • Designed and developed responsive, accessible UI components for a legal document review platform using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks.
  • Built and maintained scalable Node.js services, middleware, and API integrations to support seamless front-end functionality and server-side rendering.
  • Collaborated closely with product, design, and backend teams to translate wireframes into polished, production-ready user experiences.
  • Led code reviews, enforced development standards, and mentored junior developers while implementing automated testing for UI and end-to-end workflows.
  • Improved application performance, accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1 AA), and overall user experience by optimizing rendering efficiency and resolving UI/UX issues.

What you need to succeed:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in front-end or full-stack UI development
  • Expert-level proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Strong experience with Node.js, including building Express-based APIs or BFF (Backend for Frontend) services
  • Demonstrated ability to build complex, interactive UIs without heavy reliance on opinionated UI frameworks
  • Deep understanding of browser rendering, CSS layout models (Flexbox, Grid), and cross-browser compatibility
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, in a collaborative team environment
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing software within legal technology, document management, e-discovery, or compliance-driven environments.
  • Proficient with modern front-end frameworks such as React or Vue, including design systems and reusable component libraries.
  • Familiar with real-time collaboration technologies, including WebSockets and live data streaming implementations.
  • Knowledge of security-focused UI development and containerized deployment environments, including sensitive data handling, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Compensation:

At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, were happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range: $98,080.00 - $147,120.00; Depending on the candidates education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
