What Youll Get to Do

As Engineering Manager, youll lead two interconnected engineering functions from a single management seat overseeing both Design Engineering (partnering with commercial teams to translate customer requirements into fabrication-ready specs for custom extrusion orders) and Production Engineering (receiving signed contracts and designing all windows to customer specification through delivery). This is a leader-of-leaders role with broad influence over how our engineering group operates, performs, and grows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, & develop engineering staff through hands-on coaching, structured performance management, & career development
  • Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, & trust that strengthens team cohesion & retention
  • Own project planning across all active engineering work — scheduling, workload allocation, & capacity management
  • Track & report on key performance metrics including productivity, cycle time, & on-time delivery
  • Identify & drive process improvement opportunities with measurable reductions in lead time & rework
  • Ensure consistent adherence to company procedures, project specifications, & engineering standards
  • Partner with internal departments & external clients to optimize project outcomes & customer satisfaction

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of engineering management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years in fabrication, submission applications, or design engineering
  • Proven process improvement track record demonstrated lead time or cycle time reductions
  • Leader-of-leaders experience comfortable managing supervisors, not just individual contributors
  • Intermediate-to-advanced AutoCAD proficiency
  • Strong organizational & project planning skills, including scheduling & performance metric ownership
  • Background in building, construction, remodel, or retrofit industries
  • Exposure to architectural metals, sheet metal, or structural glazing adjacent fabrication
  • Familiarity with CNC or production software inputs

What OBE Offers You

  • Benefits that benefit you – industry competitive benefits at the lowest cost to the employee
  • Work-life balance – PTO and holidays, including floating holidays you can choose
  • Compensation that rewards your hard work – A pay-for-performance culture with potential for annual raises and bonuses
  • Training – We will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed
