What Youll Get to Do
As Engineering Manager, youll lead two interconnected engineering functions from a single management seat overseeing both Design Engineering (partnering with commercial teams to translate customer requirements into fabrication-ready specs for custom extrusion orders) and Production Engineering (receiving signed contracts and designing all windows to customer specification through delivery). This is a leader-of-leaders role with broad influence over how our engineering group operates, performs, and grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, & develop engineering staff through hands-on coaching, structured performance management, & career development
- Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, & trust that strengthens team cohesion & retention
- Own project planning across all active engineering work — scheduling, workload allocation, & capacity management
- Track & report on key performance metrics including productivity, cycle time, & on-time delivery
- Identify & drive process improvement opportunities with measurable reductions in lead time & rework
- Ensure consistent adherence to company procedures, project specifications, & engineering standards
- Partner with internal departments & external clients to optimize project outcomes & customer satisfaction
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of engineering management experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years in fabrication, submission applications, or design engineering
- Proven process improvement track record demonstrated lead time or cycle time reductions
- Leader-of-leaders experience comfortable managing supervisors, not just individual contributors
- Intermediate-to-advanced AutoCAD proficiency
- Strong organizational & project planning skills, including scheduling & performance metric ownership
- Background in building, construction, remodel, or retrofit industries
- Exposure to architectural metals, sheet metal, or structural glazing adjacent fabrication
- Familiarity with CNC or production software inputs
