Odin are hiring a

Head of Product Design

About Odin

Odin is building the investment infrastructure for the future of private markets. We believe capital is one of the most powerful tools for shaping the world - and more people should know how to put it to work. Our mission is to make it radically easier to raise and deploy capital, so that anyone, anywhere, can back the companies and ideas they believe in.

Our first product is a full-stack platform for launching and running private investment firms - think Shopify for VC and PE. We handle all the infrastructure: from legal structuring and investor onboarding to KYC/AML, payments, tax, reporting, and exits.

We’re already trusted by over 10,000 angels, VCs, and founders. We administer over $500m in assets, covering investments from pre-seed to series E. This includes household names like ElevenLabs, OpenAI, SpaceX, xAI, Anduril, etc. but also new companies creating everything from synthetic brains to small nuclear reactors.

Mission

We’re hiring a Head of Design to lead the next phase of Odin’s product and experience evolution. This is a rare opportunity to build the design function at a fintech where customers rely on the product to move real capital. Your work will define how Odin looks, feels and works as we scale.

Reporting to Mary, one of our founders, you will own and elevate the full customer experience at Odin as we prepare for a major US launch. This means bringing clarity and structure to complex workflows, improving the coherence of the product, and introducing a level of craft that makes interactions feel intuitive and well considered. This is a hands-on role where your judgment and taste will directly shape how the product evolves.

You will also play a key role in helping Odin become a company that understands and values design. You will influence how we think about user experience across the business, partner closely with the founders on brand and marketing, and begin defining how the design function should grow over time. When it is the right moment to expand the team, you will hire people you trust and set the standards for how they operate.

This role suits someone who is thoughtful, driven and deeply engaged in their craft. Someone who enjoys solving hard problems, cares about how things fit together end to end, and wants to build something meaningful with a small team that works with intent.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end product and service design: Lead the full design process from discovery and customer interviews through to prototyping and final UX/UI execution. You’ll validate assumptions, test ideas early, and ensure we’re building solutions that truly solve user problems.
  • Design intuitive, compliant, service-driven experiences: Work closely with our founders, compliance, ops and the founders associate to design experiences that are user-centric, reduce operational load, and work elegantly across multiple touch-points, not just the product surface.
  • Ensure a smooth and precise handover to engineering: Provide clear, intentional specs and maintain a tight feedback loop with engineers to ensure nothing ships below our design bar. You’ll care deeply about clarity, quality, and polish in the shipped product.
  • Shape our product direction: Partner with the founders to influence product strategy. Bring a grounded, user-centric perspective to roadmap discussions balancing speed, feasibility, regulatory constraints, and what’s genuinely best for the customer.
  • Guide brand identity and storytelling: Collaborate with the founders on Odin’s visual identity and ensure coherence across product, brand, and marketing. You’ll take a facts-driven, taste-driven approach to visual decision-making.
  • Support GTM and marketing campaigns: Work with the founders and fractional CMO to design effective launch campaigns for the US and for new products/features, with strong judgment around what people pay attention to and how design influences behaviour.
  • Evolve and embed our design system: Own and scale Odin’s design system - ensuring it’s intentional, practical, and used as a living part of the real product, not just documented in Figma.

Your Must-Have Qualities

We value designers who combine rigorous reasoning, high agency, strong taste, and deep customer empathy. In this role, you’ll succeed if you demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Deeply user-centric: You advocate for the customer’s experience, care about how people feel when using the product, and use interviews and data to understand real behaviour, not just what users say.
  • Strong judgment: You make thoughtful trade-offs between speed, quality, compliance, and complexity.
  • Reasoned and curious: You validate assumptions, ask sharp questions, and seek to understand root causes rather than relying on surface-level fixes. You enjoy figuring things out.
  • High agency and proactive: You don’t wait to be asked. You reach out to customers, propose solutions, and push work forward without requiring direction.
  • Craft-obsessed: You care about detail, polish, clarity, and cohesiveness across the entire product surface. You want the shipped product to meet a very high bar and you will push for it.
  • Clear communicator: You articulate your thinking simply and precisely, write clearly, and give engineering everything they need to build exactly what was intended.
  • Calm and grounded in feedback: You operate with conviction but without ego. You engage in healthy debate, use data to sharpen decisions, and don’t take feedback personally.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: You’re able to form structure from incomplete information and navigate constraints (technical, regulatory, operational) without losing momentum.
  • Outcome-driven: You care about the results of your work. You check impact, look at metrics, and make sure what you designed actually improved the experience or reduced friction.

Your Experience

Must-Have

  • 8+ years experience in design, with a strong track record shaping complex products end-to-end.
  • In-house experience (not purely agency) with ownership over entire journeys, not just isolated screens.
  • Strong in information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, and delivering polished, production-ready UI.
  • Demonstrated strength in visual design and high-bar craft: an eye for detail, care for precision, and the ability to enforce quality even at the pixel level.
  • Systems thinker who designs with the full workflow in mind - across user actions, emails, automations, permissions, operational steps, and regulatory constraints.
  • Experience designing complex, multi-party systems or working in regulated environments.
  • Able to run product discovery independently: user interviews, assumption validation, prototypes, usability tests.
  • A portfolio showing real business impact - how design improved operations, clarity, conversion, or user experience.
  • Numerical literacy and attention to detail, especially for financial or data-heavy products.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience as the first or only designer.
  • Experience with AI-assisted prototyping or excitement to learn quickly.
  • Exposure to brand or marketing design.
  • Fintech or B2B experience.
  • Experience designing data visualisations or complex SaaS workflows.
  • Experience with workflow automation or AI-powered UX.
