Associate Product Designer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Product Designer position is responsible for supporting commercial kit management across all Natera commercial product lines. This includes, but is not limited to, commercial kit design, kit testing (temperature stability, shipping, packaging testing), and commercial product kit launches. This position is also responsible for managing change controls of all Natera commercial product requisition forms. The role will work closely with Product Management, Marketing, Logistics, Procurement, QA/RA, and external Kit vendors to coordinate and prioritize action plans that ensure the compliant and timely launch of commercial kits.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work cross-functionally with team members across organization: Product Managers, Marketing, Procurement, Logistics, Lab Operations, etc to ensure necessary information is obtained for creation of accurate kit specifications, part number, requisition forms, First Article approval process, etc. and ensure adherence to internal Natera QA compliance as well as Stakeholder’s project timeline requirements.
  • Design commercial collection kits with a focus on safety of patients’ samples as well as green/sustainable design.
  • Conduct any required kit packaging studies and testing, including but not limited to temperature validation, shipping analysis, and packaging evaluations.
  • Partner closely with external stakeholders such as kit vendors to ensure adherence to kit development and launch schedule. Proactively escalating issues to Stakeholders (i.e. Product Managers) that may affect project timelines & propose solutions as needed.
  • Utilize operational and project management skills to anticipate, investigate, and resolve issues so that deliverables are met; raise issues to Stakeholders whenever necessary.
  • Be a liaison to Product Management, Procurement, & Logistics team and ensure proper alignment in any commercial kit projected volume changes throughout the kit lifecycle.
  • Manage and oversee all change requests related to Natera's commercial requisition forms, ensuring proper adherence to Natera compliance control and documentation process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Industrial Engineering
  • Career experience of 2-4 years in kit design
  • Experience in CAD
  • Excellent project management skills with proven track records of meeting aggressive deadlines, experience in Project Management of 2+ years
  • Experience working with external partners and teams across multiple departments
  • Healthcare operational experience
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to identify problems and propose solutions
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills with ability to productively partner with internal and external stakeholders.
  • MS Excel, MS Word, MS PPT, Smartsheet/ MS Project, AutoCAD, Adobe Pro, Canva skills required.
