Motion are hiring a

Senior Product Designer (Design Engineer)

About Motion

Motion is creating the command center for creative strategists: an AI-driven analytics and intelligence platform that bridges the gap between performance marketers and creative teams, helping them uncover whats working, whats not, and ultimately ship more winning ads across platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn, Meta, and TikTok. Today, Motion is trusted by some of the worlds top e-commerce and direct-to-consumer brands and agencies (including Vuori, True Classic, The Farmers Dog, and HexClad) and has analyzed over $12 billion in media spend. When leading brands want to understand their creative performance, they turn to us.

Were growing fast (3x year-over-year), our product is sticky, and with a recent $30M Series B raise, were just getting started. Were building the future of creative intelligence and are looking for talented people to help us get there!

About the Senior Product Designer role

At Motion, designers work closely with engineers and product managers across the full lifecycle of a project, from early research and exploration through to shipped product. Youll own the end-to-end design process, and youll stay close enough to implementation to make sure what ships is something youre proud of.

Were looking for someone with strong design craft, sharp product thinking, and curiosity about where the discipline is heading. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, able to think in systems, and eager to experiment with AI tools like Cursor or Claude throughout the design process - from early prototypes to production.

What makes this role unique

Youll own 1-2 product pods, and since were still in our early stages of growth, your work will have a huge impact as we scale. We also invest heavily in AI tooling, meaning youll have access to experiment with the latest technologies as theyre released, with no restrictions on what you can explore. If youre excited about shaping product while pushing the boundaries of whats possible in design, this is the role for you!

What youd be doing

  • Planning and executing user research to inform design decisions.
  • Owning the end-to-end design process, from discovery and research through to shipped product.
  • Collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and context engineers across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proactively identifying areas to refine or redesign, whether larger flows or small interaction details you notice while using the product.
  • Extending and maintaining our component library to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Using AI tools to bring ideas to life quickly and pushing them all the way to production.

Our ideal fit brings

  • 5+ years of experience designing digital products (ideally in B2B SaaS), with a strong portfolio demonstrating craft, process, and product thinking.
  • Experience planning and running user research, not just consuming insights.
  • Exceptional visual and UI design skills: Pixel-perfect craft and attention to detail are essential, as were still building out our design system.
  • Systems thinking: You consider how your work fits into the broader product, not just the screen in front of you.
  • Proficiency in Figma and an understanding of design systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across functions.
  • Adaptability and comfort with fast-paced environments: You thrive with changing priorities and can own 0-1 features end-to-end.
  • Curiosity about AI trends and how theyre shaping the future of design and product development.
  • A pragmatic approach: You know when to push for polish and when to ship and learn.
  • Strong preference for candidates comfortable with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.) who can prototype quickly and ship features directly to the product.

What youll love about Motion

  • Competitive compensation package: We offer competitive compensation, including equity for all employees, health benefits from day one, a monthly health & lifestyle stipend to support your well-being, 20 days of PTO, and a $1,500 work-from-home stipend.
  • Remote-first with hybrid flexibility: Were a remote-first company with team members spanning Canada, the U.S., and beyond, but also have office spaces in 4 main hubs (Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Porto) for optional hybrid work.
  • Growth that speaks for itself: Motion has strong product-market fit, 3x YoY growth, second-time founders with deep industry knowledge, and $30M in Series B funding to fuel our momentum.
  • Opportunity for impact: As an early team member, your contributions will directly shape the product, team, and the future of the company. If youre excited about building, youll thrive here!
  • Award-winning team: Were a low-ego, high-performing team that was just ranked #5 on LinkedIns Top 15 Startups in Canada for 2025.
  • Team connection: To stay connected in a virtual workspace, we get together at least once yearly for a company-wide offsite (this year, we spent a week by the lake in Muskoka, Canada!)

A note on location

Motion is a fully remote company, but were looking for someone in who can work with significant overlap to ET working hours.
