Senior Product Design Producer
Overview
The Collaborative Experience Design (CxD) Studio is looking for a Senior Product Design Producer who is passionate about empowering designers to achieve more through leading design operations, cross studio communications, and process development. The CxD Studio is responsible for envisioning the future of collaboration at Microsoft through products like OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. Product Design Producers at Microsoft work collaboratively with designers, researchers, content writers, product managers, and developers, leading projects throughout the planning, design, and development lifecycle to implement simple, scalable approaches that amplify our design studios efforts. Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional planning and execution by establishing scalable systems for tracking workstreams, capacity, and priorities across multiple teams and initiatives.
- Partner with project leadership to align milestone delivery with broader organizational objectives and strategic outcomes.
- Drive clarity of ownership and accountability for key deliverables, enabling sustained momentum and delivery at scale.
- Define and operationalize effective team rhythms, ensuring meetings, check-ins, and reviews are structured to support decision-making and progress.
- Oversee project documentation practices that support organizational memory, stakeholder visibility, and seamless knowledge transfer.
- Shape and contribute to strategic planning cycles, including quarterly planning, milestone reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring alignment across functions.
- Conduct research and collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for the team roadmap, helping prioritize initiatives based on impact, urgency, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and lead communication strategies that build alignment, drive engagement, and maintain transparency throughout the program lifecycle.
- Advocate for and embed project management best practices that strengthen execution and improve collaboration across disciplines.
- Influence and guide horizontal programs in partnership with senior leaders, including initiatives related to design systems, product development workflows, and tooling strategy.
- Identify systemic gaps and lead operational improvements in workflows, tooling, and cross-team coordination models.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design OR Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).
- Masters Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design OR Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).
- 4+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.
- 3-5 years of experience in research operations, user research, or related operational roles.
- Proven track record of building and scaling operational systems and processes.
- Solid project management skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience with research tools and platforms (e.g., UserTesting, Qualtrics, participant recruitment tools).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of research methodologies and the research lifecycle.
- Experience leveraging data to inform decisions and drive change.
- Experience in a high-growth or enterprise technology environment.
- Background in user experience research or customer insights.
- Familiarity with legal, procurement, and compliance considerations for research.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
- Knowledge management or information architecture experience.
- Experience scaling research through enablement programs.
- Strong understanding of trends in AI and automation, particularly as applied to research operations.
- Experience with emerging AI research tools and techniques.
- Track record of operating independently, embracing ambiguity, and delivering results in organized manner.
- Increased efficiency and scale of research operations.
- Stakeholder satisfaction with research processes and access to insights.
- Successful vendor management and cost optimization.

Product Design IC4
The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $114,400 - CAD $203,900 per year.
