Microsoft are hiring a

Product Designer

Overview

By joining our team, you will be at the heart of envisioning, creating, and crafting Microsoft Teams – the ultimate AI forward productivity workspace for real-time collaboration and communication, meetings, file and app sharing. As a Product Designer working on the Teams Design System, you will define industry-standard design patterns for the Teams Mobile and Desktop/Web apps. Youll develop and maintain UI kits, UI and UX usage guidelines, and best practices for internal and external stakeholders. In close collaboration with feature designers and engineers, youll design, spec, and deliver components and design system infrastructure underpinning the Teams product and the broader Fluent design system. You will operate at the front lines of design system advancement—leading with AI-powered solutions to evolve how systems are created, maintained, and scaled. This includes shaping and leveraging AI-driven tooling and workflows to dramatically improve efficiency, consistency, and speed, while helping define the future of how designers build with and through the system. Additionally, youll create, audit, and continuously innovate on design assets used daily by designers, ensuring quality, trust, and highly efficient end-to-end workflows. This opportunity will allow you to grow your design systems craft, learn how to collaborate effectively with engineers and feature designers on shared infrastructure, and develop early expertise in applying AI-driven tools and workflows to streamline system creation and maintenance.
As a Product Designer, you will contribute to the implementation and upkeep of existing design system components and assets across mobile and web surfaces. Youll support senior designers by helping prepare component specs, updating documentation, and ensuring system assets remain accurate, accessible, and up to date. Youll incorporate feedback from feature teams, and make impactful improvements to Design System resources and guidelines. Youll also participate in design reviews, build fluency with design system tools and workflows, and develop an understanding of how shared systems are used in real product scenarios.
Microsofts mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
