This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.
The Digital User Experience Designer is dedicated to crafting user-centered designs that enhance digital touchpoints and align with member needs. This role leverages creativity and technical expertise to create interfaces that are both functional and aesthetically engaging. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, the Digital User Experience Designer champions accessibility and innovation in all design decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design and refine user experiences across digital platforms, ensuring alignment with the organizations digital strategy and member needs.
- Develop intuitive interaction designs, including wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and user journey maps, to communicate and validate concepts effectively.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to understand needs, behaviors, and pain points, translating insights into actionable design solutions.
- Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to guide innovative design strategies and ensure alignment with user needs and industry standards.
- Perform heuristic evaluations to identify usability issues in current designs, recommend actionable improvements, and ensure high standards of accessibility.
- Advocate for accessibility by educating teams, influencing processes, and promoting best practices that ensure inclusivity and compliance with standards like WCAG.
- Create detailed visual design specifications and high-fidelity prototypes for web and mobile platforms to guide developers on design intent and functionality.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, and marketing, to ensure consistent, cohesive, and brand-aligned user experiences across all touchpoints.
- Champion emerging technologies and design trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation in digital experiences.
- Maintain and uphold brand guidelines to ensure cohesive visual storytelling across platforms.
- Establish performance metrics to evaluate the success of designs, such as member engagement, satisfaction scores, and conversion rates, and continuously optimize for improvement.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Digital Media, or a related field.
Required Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and their application in digital design.
- Experience creating style guides, pattern libraries, and other design system solutions.
Experience Required:
- Proven experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions across web and mobile platforms.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive digital solutions.
Technical Skills/Abilities:
- UX Design: Proficiency in UX design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar software.
- Web Technologies and Scripting: Working knowledge of HTML and CSS; familiarity with Java or coding skills a plus.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyze data and user feedback to inform and validate design decisions.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- User-Centered Design Thinking: Empathy for users, ensuring their needs and challenges are at the forefront of design decisions.
- Adaptable: Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving digital landscape.
- Design Thinking: Creativity and a forward-thinking mindset to explore innovative design solutions.
- Brand Stewardship: Strong attention to detail and commitment to upholding brand consistency and visual identity.

Final Compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, certifications, and internal pay equity.
