Department Overview
The McDonald’s Global Experience Design team is a key part of the Consumer Products & Platforms team that resides within Global Technology. Powering tomorrow’s feel-good moments, you’ll find us at the forefront of transformative technology, discovering fresh and inventive methods to serve our millions of customers.
As the Director, Accessibility, you will lead a group of accessibility specialists. They work to make experiences more inclusive for people of all abilities using our technology.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Define the vision and strategy for accessibility at McDonald’s, helping to ensure that our digital products feel good and work great for the greatest number of people.
- Support a diverse team of accessibility experts who specialize in everything from setting global standards to embedding accessibility in design systems to driving inclusive research to reporting on product quality.
- Lead your team to achieve clear results for the business and individuals with diverse skills. Provide product managers, experience designers, and engineers with the training, tools, and embedded expertise they need to succeed.
- Partner with other directors in experience design, product management, and engineering to shape and resource quarterly roadmaps and initiatives.
- Advocate and grow organizational competency in inclusive design, and help your team effectively operationalize strategy to deliver measurable results.
Qualifications
- 10 plus years relevant industry experience leading accessibility initiatives across digital products and platforms.
- 5 plus years directly managing, coaching and developing individuals. Global experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional work experience.
- Deep experience successfully leading sizable teams (10 or more) of individual contributors and managers.
- Proven track record of leading initiatives that drive meaningful outcomes for people of all abilities.
- Demonstrable understanding of inclusive design principles, global accessibility standards and how they tangibly apply to digital products across technologies (web, point of sale, mobile, kiosk, enterprise software applications, etc.).
- Ability to influence senior leaders and executives (from VPs up to the C-Suite), and case studies to show how you’ve done it before.
- Passion for innovation that goes beyond ensuring legal compliance and sets new standards for how products are designed and developed to provide greater access to traditionally marginalized communities.

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $195,371.00 - $244,214.00 per year.
The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we may also consider your experience, and other job-related factors.
Benefits eligible: This position offers health and welfare benefits, a 401(k) plan, adoption assistance program, educational assistance program, flexible ways of working, and time off policies (including sick leave, parental leave, and vacation/PTO). Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
Bonus eligible: This position is eligible for a bonus, calculated based on individual and company performance.
Long term Incentive eligible: This position is eligible for stock or other equity grants pursuant to McDonald’s long-term incentive plan.
