Mary Kay are hiring a
User Experience Designer
Job Summary
The Experience Designer drives user-centered design across the Mary Kay global digital ecosystem, delivering cohesive and accessible experiences for consultants and consumers. This multi-functional role spans UX design, UI design, content design, and content integration oversight. It requires a balance of creative problem-solving and technical fluency, ensuring that digital experiences are usable, on-brand, and platform-ready across mobile apps, digital tools, and the global consumer website. This role partners closely with DX (Product), Global Marketing, Global Creative, and DBS engineering teams to translate business requirements into workflows, prototypes, and high-quality interface designs. The Experience Designer also collaborates with the content integration workstream (including offshore resources) to maintain platform accuracy, data integrity, and consistent global content distribution. Success requires strong design craft, familiarity with cloud-based systems such as Salesforce and PIM, an understanding of front-end development constraints, and the ability to collaborate with partners through design tradeoffs and component-based design standards.
About the Role
UX (user experience) Design
- Lead end-to-end UX design across platforms (mobile, responsive web, apps, digital tools), including discovery, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and handoff documentation.
- Collaborate with business, engineering, and product partners to define requirements, identify constraints, and translate complex concepts into intuitive workflows.
- Apply accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA), responsive UX best practices, and research insights to all solutions.
- Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders; guide partners through design tradeoffs, technical limitations, and customer experience recommendations.
- Drive UX alignment with the Honeycomb design system and contribute new components or patterns as needed.
- Support usability testing and research activities; interpret findings and apply them to iterative design improvements.
UI (user interface) Design
- Produce high-fidelity UI designs and component-level specifications for Salesforce-based and legacy consumer website experiences.
- Ensure all UI solutions reflect Mary Kay brand identity, accessibility requirements, and platform consistency.
- Partner closely with developers to validate feasibility, troubleshoot issues using basic HTML/CSS understanding, and ensure accurate design implementation.
- Contribute to the evolution of the Honeycomb UI library by documenting updated component visuals, variants, and interaction states.
Content Design & Content Creation Consulting
- Create digital content designs such as content pages, product pages, promotional assets, landing pages, and similar executions using component-based layout strategies.
- Serve as a liaison to Global Creative and regional teams, providing consultation on content components, configuration options, UX rationale, and page-building strategy.
- Partner with product managers, UX designers, and content teams to test layouts, ensure global alignment, and reduce redundant content creation across markets.
- Provide coaching to partners on content hierarchy, messaging flow, and layout usability best practices.
Content Integration Oversight
- Oversee (but not directly manage) offshore content integration resources responsible for content population across PIM, Salesforce, and the consumer website.
- Maintain documentation and governance for integration workflows, QA processes, and risk mitigation.
- Provide direction and troubleshooting support for complex content or data issues, including PIM field mapping, metadata accuracy, and component configuration.
- Collaborate with regional and market partners to support global content distribution, drive standardization, and ensure successful content adoption.
Design System Maintenance
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Honeycomb design system, ensuring component documentation, visual updates, and UX guidance remain accurate and current.
- Partner with UX, UI, and engineering to evaluate system gaps and propose new patterns.
- Support design system adoption across markets and cross-functional teams through training, guidance, and documentation.
- Reinforce consistent system usage to drive efficiency, reduce custom design work, and improve development scalability.
