About Neon One
At Neon One, we believe that technology is the key to building vibrant communities of generosity. As a leader in nonprofit software since 2004, we create intuitive solutions that help small and mid-sized nonprofits connect with people, build trust, and make good happen every day.
Our culture is powered by empathy, innovation, and a shared mission to empower organizations making a difference. We operate with a customer-first mindset, take pride in extraordinary results, and grow together by supporting each other and embracing bold new ideas. If you’re passionate about using your skills to drive real impact and want to thrive in a collaborative, fully remote environment, Neon One is the place for you.
About the Role
Neon One is seeking a Product Designer who wants to shape design at scale from user feedback and product data. This role offers a rare opportunity to help reimagine and unify a complex SaaS platform used by nonprofits, donors, volunteers, and supporters to power social good. You’ll tackle complex, end-to-end problems with a strong user-centered mindset, designing thoughtful, scalable, and accessible experiences across products and teams. You’ll work closely with product managers, engineering, and fellow designers to contribute to a growing design system. Use tools like Figma, Pendo, Helio, and agentic AI to explore ideas, validate decisions, and move faster without sacrificing quality. This role is ideal for a designer who enjoys ownership and autonomy, values collaboration and feedback, and is motivated by continuous learning—especially when the work directly supports missions that matter.
Key Responsibilities
- Own complex, end-to-end design problems with support from cross-functional partners—balancing craft, user needs, and business goals from discovery through delivery.
- Help shape product strategy and the roadmap by bringing design perspective into early, often ambiguous conversations.
- Navigate ambiguity through exploration, iteration, and collaboration. Test concepts early, learn quickly, and refine solutions together.
- Design intuitive flows, hierarchies, and layouts that support real user tasks across web and mobile experiences.
- Design accessible and responsive user interfaces across web and mobile experiences.
- Apply strong visual, interaction, and motion design principles to improve engagement and usability.
- Know when to move fast and when to dive deep. Create the right artifacts at the right time and fidelity. Keep Figma files clean and easy for designers and engineers to work from.
- Maintain and evolve Neon One’s Figma design system and libraries so teams can move faster while staying consistent.
- Plan and run user research and usability testing, synthesize what you learn, and turn insights into better product decisions.
- Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders from discovery through delivery, building trust, shared ownership, and healthy debate along the way.
- Clearly communicate design decisions through thoughtful storytelling that connects user needs, product goals, and business impact.
- Lead and participate in workshops and critiques that align teams, surface ideas, and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback in both directions.
- Partner with engineering during build and QA to ensure what ships matches design intent and accessibility standards.
- Design AI-powered experiences that feel useful, trustworthy, and grounded in real user needs.
- Use AI tools like Figma Make, Gemini, and more to explore ideas faster, prototype smarter, and tell clearer design stories.
- Invest in shared learning (mentoring others and continuing to grow yourself) to elevate design quality, strengthen culture, and better serve our nonprofit customers.
- Improve how the design team works by contributing to better processes, standards, and shared ways of working such as critique, iteration, and user-centeredness.
- Stay curious by keeping up with design trends, tools, accessibility, AI, and the evolving SaaS landscape.
Key Qualifications
We value strong fundamentals, curiosity, and growth mindset. We welcome designers from diverse backgrounds and non-traditional paths.
- Experience owning complex, end-to-end product experiences, ideally in SaaS or web apps.
- Portfolio showcasing thoughtful product design, interaction design, responsive layouts, and accessible UI across web and mobile.
- Strong foundation in hierarchy, typography, information architecture, and data visualization.
- Proficient in Figma with design systems, prototyping, and collaboration.
- Familiar with WCAG and ADA accessibility design standards and how to apply them. We believe accessible design leads to better experiences for everyone.
- Experienced in UX research including planning, conducting, synthesizing, and applying insights to design decisions.
- Understands front-end constraints enough to design feasible solutions and work seamlessly with engineers (no coding required).
- Able to advocate for users, influence decisions, and collaborate across teams.
- Excellent communicator, able to explain design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, prioritizing work, and driving outcomes with cross-functional partners in fast-paced environments.
- Able to work remotely and across time zones.
Nice to Haves

- Experience designing mobile-first or mobile app experiences.
- Familiarity with user testing tools.
- Familiarity with AI design agents.
