UX Designer, Core, Google User Analytics

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in visual storytelling, data visualization, illustration, and vector drawing, as well as establishing design systems across products.
  • Experience with GenAI design tools and rapid functional prototyping using AI Studio, Lovable, and Replit, etc.
  • Experience in partnering with engineering teams to translate complex data requirements into scalable UI components and interactive data visualizations.
  • Experience with data science or infrastructure design with a strong visual design sense.

In this role, you will curate large, complex datasets to help solve difficult analysis problems and aim to provide better data for better decisions so that Google can build better products for the users. You will be able to analyze, interpret, and visualize complex data into a sophisticated dashboard and other supporting tools. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Googles flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Googles products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities:

  • Design products and features that convey complex insights to help Google make better decisions.
  • Partner closely with a tenured Staff UX Designer and contribute to the teams existing design framework and advocate for great data design to help teams design their tools and content.
  • Work iteratively with software engineers of various seniority to expedite the development of features with high quality.
  • Engage directly with users to understand their problems and measure the impact by visualizing complex data.
  • Work with the product team to better understand user needs and use them to inform product design choices.
