Senior UX Engineer, Ads Privacy and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in technical, UX, design, or related roles.
  • Experience with web front-end frameworks and programming languages, such as Angular, ReactJS, NextJS, Python, or TypeScript.
  • Experience designing across multiple platforms and collaborating with technical/design teams to construct user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in user trust, areas with high sensitivity or regulation, or a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape.
  • Experience working within the Google3 infrastructure or leading cloud environments, alongside building large-scale design systems.
  • Experience delivering iteratively from a scrappy Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to highly robust and scalable solutions.
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively and creatively to develop technical solutions for design system workflow gaps.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen, articulate positions, and respectfully challenge partners and stakeholders with new product design thinking.

As a Senior User Experience Engineer, you will be the crucial bridge between visionary design and cutting-edge AI capabilities. You will lead the prototyping and development of AI-driven interfaces, pushing the boundaries of whats technically possible while ensuring experiences remain accessible, responsive, and deeply human-centric. In this role, you wont just be building UI—you will be architecting the frameworks that translate complex machine learning models into delightful, everyday tools, setting the technical standard for UX engineering across our organization.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $159000 - $231000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive project work by implementing and updating the user experience by writing code.
  • Participate in project meetings with stakeholders (e.g., product managers, software engineers) and provide technical input and inform project decisions on user experience development.
  • Identify user experience and technical issues. Develop prototypes from functional/technical specifications.
  • Evaluate potential and feasibility for new features by prototyping, soliciting feedback and analyzing problems from a broader technical perspective.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, researchers, and strategists on the team to build core features, fix usability issues, write documentation and onboard new users to the tools.
