Senior Interaction Designer, YouTube Main App

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
  • Experience with visual design principles.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Masters degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working in a cross-functional organization.
  • Experience with systems thinking and design systems.
  • Experience in designing and launching for multiple platforms (e.g., iOS, Android, Web, etc.).
  • Experience or knowledge of AI/LLMs.
  • Knowledge of user-centered design principles.

You will also design standards for every format, ensuring content shines and users can learn and connect. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities:

  • Explore high-value opportunities and net-new product innovations that expand the ecosystem by identifying emerging user needs.
  • Develop long-term UX strategies and lead cross-functional stakeholders to land scalable solutions that drive measurable product impact.
  • Utilize knowledge to deliver sustainable interfaces.
  • Prioritize team success by fostering a welcoming environment, coaching other designers, and pushing the collective design thinking.
  • Articulate design positions, challenge partners, and define the design quality across the product path.
