Program Manager III, User Experience, Pixel Buds

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in user engagement (e.g., beta programs, dogfood programs, etc.).
  • Experience working with mobile devices, hardware/software/embedded software or Android development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience within the Wearables or Hearables industry.
  • Experience shipping software for silicon and hardware.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Experience with creating data dashboards to track program health and user sentiment.

As a Program Manager at Google, youll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. Its your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

The Pixel Buds team is responsible for defining, developing and launching the Pixel Buds product lines, both Pro and A-series, with the intent of delivering the worlds most helpful hearable experience. As a Buds Dogfood Program Manager, you will manage the end-to-end operational workflow for Dogfooder survey planning and execution, interacting directly with a cohort of users to set expectations and ingest qualitative and quantitative feedback. You will work closely with Product Managers, Software Technical Program Managers, and UX Researchers to scope features, enforce Dogfood readiness criteria, generate surveys that drive meaningful user insights, and analyze Dogfooder feedback (quality and quantity). You will play a critical role in identifying behavioral trends and ensuring that user sentiments are communicated to Product Management and Engineering teams through a rigorous, repeatable process.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Googles artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities:

  • Create and own the master schedule for feature/survey release of hardware/software features and user surveys into Dogfood.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to present aligned product and feature insights to leadership.
  • Balance schedule, feature priority and Dogfooder experience trade-offs to optimize results and inform product and feature decisions with the user in mind.
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and facilitate conflict resolution among a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Technical Program Managers and Researchers.
