The Role:

The Product Design team is comprised of a group of system thinkers who have deep empathy for our customers (home owners, dealers/partners, and installers). We ensure that each touchpoint of the customer journey is carefully crafted to provide a useful, usable, and delightful experience. This includes ensuring cohesion across marketing, industrial design and interfaces, voice prompts, mobile apps, and website experiences. We care about the people we work with. This means we trust each other, are generous with feedback, and prioritize data and research over individual opinion.

How Youll Make an Impact:

  • Be mentored by, supported by, and learn from a team of 15+ Product Designers.
  • Make mistakes (hopefully tons of them!) and learn from every single one.
  • Collaborate with Product designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers on projects that impact millions of customers.
  • Participate in all product design activities, including discovery, ideation, design and development, testing and validation, and launch.
  • Get regular feedback from the team through design pairing and team wide design critiques.
  • Most importantly, have fun! Youre here to learn, grow, and stretch out of your comfort zone.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree program in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of the foundations and core concepts of user experience and interaction design.
  • Bonus points for experience or understanding of mobile design patterns.
  • Collaborative with cross-functional teams, with a desire to learn and participate in the product development process.
  • Dedicated to user-centered design, research, and validating assumptions with real people.
  • Self-motivated and keenly interested in connected home products and IoT.

The target salary range for this role will be $57,240 - $61,480/year.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
