Location: May be located in any Elevance Health PulsePoint office, preferably in Mendota Heights.
This role requires associates to be in-office at least 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered. Summary
Responsible for leading the product design vision and execution across Elevance Health’s enterprise products. This role connects business priorities to user and customer needs, delivering intuitive, human-centered, and AI-enabled product experiences. Oversees design strategy, product prototyping in Figma (or equivalent), and design systems that scale across platforms.

Position Responsibilities

  • Leads enterprise product and journey design in collaboration with key stakeholders to deliver cohesive digital-first experiences.
  • Defines and activates signature design strategy across lines of business and ensures partners deliver on objectives.
  • Defines emerging best practices and consistent approach to human-centered design product design, prototyping, and design systems.
  • Enables business partners to understand, design, measure, and continuously improve digital product experiences across web, mobile, and emerging platforms.
  • Activates relevant insights from existing data, research, and AI to influence UI/UX and product development to transform consumer experience and engagement.
  • Partners with key business stakeholders to accelerate 0–1 product builds and unify new capabilities with design systems and signature experience strategy.
  • Executes or commissions relevant new studies and research to support product design decisions, usability testing, and customer strategy, and collaborates with relevant teams.

Position Requirements

Requires a BA/BS related to human-centered design, product/service design or related field and minimum of 10 years experience related to customer and employee experience including minimum of 5 years leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

  • Strong digital product design portfolio required, demonstrating Figma and prototyping expertise.
  • Proven experience designing for direct-to-consumer (D2C) and business-to-consumer (B2C) products at scale.
  • Demonstrated 0–1 product build experience (taking products from concept through launch).
  • Demonstrated ability to apply human-centered design in digital product development, including user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI.
  • Example of applying AI and machine learning in design workflows (e.g., personalization, generative design, or AI-assisted user experience).
  • Strong collaboration skills across product, engineering, research, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience building and scaling design teams, design systems, and DesignOps practices.
  • Knowledge of accessibility, inclusive design, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into usable, engaging, and measurable product experiences.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary range for this specific position is $200,000 to $300,000.
