DPUS - Senior Product Designer - Visual Design - US - Boston

THE ROLE

DEPT seeks a senior product designer. Must have 24 months of work experience (may be paid or unpaid) in a position focused on product design and/or graphic design, to include each of the following:

  • Using Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma to develop concepts, build prototypes, and develop and maintain a design system
  • Using mobile patterns and designing and developing for mobile contexts
  • Using 3D modeling tools to create models and visualize concepts
  • Planning and strategizing design projects to align them with business goals
  • Applying product research methods and synthesizing research
  • Facilitating conversations with key product stakeholders and C-suite individuals
  • Collaborating across disciplines and departments to ensure that design decisions translate into the end product
  • Planning, designing, and running workshops, ideation sessions, and sprints
  • Presenting ideas and designs to convey vision and gain stakeholder buy-in
  • Building productive relationships and partnerships with a diverse range of clients and a variety of players across project teams
  • Working with international partners and coordinating across time zones
  • Coordinating tasks and workflow via Jira, Asana, or Trello
  • Using the following research tools:
    • User testing
    • User Zoom
    • Maze
    • Optimal Workshop
    • Respondent

Position requires: (1) Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design, Interactive Digital Media, or related communication technology field. (2) 24 months of work experience (may be paid or unpaid) in a position focused on product design and/or graphic design, to include each of the following: (a) Using Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma to develop concepts, build prototypes, and develop and maintain a design system; (b) Using mobile patterns and designing and developing for mobile contexts; (c) Using 3D modeling tools to create models and visualize concepts; (d) Planning and strategizing design projects to align them with business goals; (e) Applying product research methods and synthesizing research; (f) Facilitating conversations with key product stakeholders and C-suite individuals; (g) Collaborating across disciplines and departments to ensure that design decisions translate into the end product; (h) Planning, designing, and running workshops, ideation sessions, and sprints; (i) Presenting ideas and designs to convey vision and gain stakeholder buy-in; (j) Building productive relationships and partnerships with a diverse range of clients and a variety of players across project teams; (k) Working with international partners and coordinating across time zones; (l) Coordinating tasks and workflow via Jira, Asana, or Trello; and (m) Using the following research tools: User testing, User Zoom, Maze, Optimal Workshop, and Respondent. (3) Qualified candidates must share a portfolio of work and be ready to describe their roles and responsibilities in the presented projects. Portfolios must include professional projects that are in release, and not just conceptual or student projects. (4) This is a hybrid position with the expectation that the employee will need to work in the office 3 days a week. Employee must be located within 50 miles of either the Newburyport, MA headquarters or the Boston, MA office.
