This role focuses on transforming early concepts into production-ready solutions. You will build high-fidelity prototypes, define interaction patterns, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure AI-driven features are usable, reliable, and aligned with enterprise-grade security and compliance expectations.

The ideal candidate brings strong front-end engineering skills, deep interaction design sensibility, and hands-on experience prototyping modern AI-powered workflows.

What Youll Get to Do

Prototyping & Product Development

  • Build rapid prototypes ranging from interactive design explorations to coded, production-quality UI implementations.
  • Translate ambiguous product concepts into concrete interaction models, workflows, and UI patterns.
  • Partner with Engineering to align prototypes with scalable architecture, APIs, performance standards, and accessibility requirements.
  • Accelerate decision-making through iterative testing and refinement.

AI-Powered Experience Design

  • Prototype AI-driven workflows such as assistants, guided task completion, conversational interactions, and agent-based automation.
  • Design human-in-the-loop patterns that maintain transparency, user control, and review before execution.
  • Implement structured outputs, tool/function calling, and workflow orchestration within prototypes.
  • Apply grounding and retrieval strategies to ensure generated outputs are accurate and contextual.
  • Contribute to evaluation frameworks that measure usefulness, correctness, safety, and latency.

Design Systems & Front-End Architecture

  • Contribute to and extend Dayforces design system, including components, tokens, patterns, and documentation.
  • Build reference implementations and living prototypes that support reuse across product teams.
  • Strengthen design-to-development workflows, ensuring alignment between Figma assets and production components.
  • Advocate for accessibility (WCAG compliance), responsive design, and performance best practices.

Responsible AI & Governance

  • Incorporate responsible AI principles into product interactions, including transparency, security, and privacy safeguards.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Security, Privacy, and AI teams to ensure AI features meet enterprise compliance standards.
  • Ensure AI-powered workflows appropriately reflect permissions and sensitive people data constraints.

    • React or comparable modern UI frameworks
    • API integration and front-end state management
  • Experience collaborating closely with product and engineering teams in enterprise SaaS environments.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles.

AI Experience

  • Hands-on experience prototyping LLM-powered features.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Prompt/system instruction design and iteration
    • Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) concepts
    • Structured outputs and tool/function calling
    • Agent-style workflow orchestration
  • Experience evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, reliability, and user experience quality.
  • Ability to responsibly use AI-assisted coding and design tools while maintaining engineering rigor.

What Would Make You Really Stand Out
