We are seeking a highly skilled Product Designer (EDI and Billing) who is passionate about creating innovative solutions and developing high-quality applications. The ideal candidate will have experience within a Health Plan operations environment and will be able to work collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and product managers.
Job Title: Healthcare Product Designer (EDI and Billing) - SME
Role: Individual Contributor External Facing Role
As a Product Designer Manager at Cognizant TriZetto, you will be responsible for authoring business requirements for functionality to be delivered as part of the TriZetto product portfolio. Collaborating with other stakeholders to create the high-level designs and the detailed functional design artifacts that will be used to develop TriZetto products and solutions. Serving as a subject matter expert in all areas of the software development life cycle (i.e., software engineering, quality assurance, and technical communications), assists customer support, sales and consulting/implementation services.
Essential Functions:
- Analyzing and translating business and user requirements into high-level designs and functional specifications which could include design of new or changed processing, data requirements, user interfaces, and/or database design.
- Identifying and sometimes creating alternative solutions to solve business needs and articulating the pros and cons of the various approaches.
- Participating in internal and customer meetings to clarify requirements, formulate design approaches and confirm they meet the business needs.
- Leading the collaboration with other product design teams to ensure that integration and interfaces between our products are an integral part of our planning and design process.
- Leading design discussions with System/Software Engineers and QA Analysts.
- Mentoring intermediate and associate level design team members. Troubleshoot and debug applications: Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs to ensure the stability and performance of applications.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be taken into consideration in lieu of a degree.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Healthcare (Health Plan) industry– EDI, Billing, ITS areas preferred.
- Related experience in a software development environment preferred, not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to present to all levels of management.
- Agile methodology: Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a focus on iterative and incremental delivery.

- Strong problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and implement them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills: Ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $113K-$132K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
