The User Experience engineering group at CDK is focused on the quality of the interactions people have with our technology and is looking for professionals that employ the principles and techniques of User Centered Design to join us. UX @ CDK follows a multi-disciplinary approach that focuses on all the users' emotions, beliefs, preferences, perceptions, and behaviors through an iterative research and design process.

The Senior UX Designer is responsible for the end-to-end experience of a product, a project, or a feature. They will collaborate and co-create with cross-functional product teams internationally, to create joyful user experiences for the challenges faced by the Automotive industry.

The Senior UX Designer is expected to

  • Work with Product Management, Product Marketing, Engineering and Design teams to help define product goals, requirements and represent users’ point of view throughout the product planning process.
  • Design workflows, solution sketches, wireframes and prototypes to illustrate the best solutions.
  • Have working knowledge and experience designing using Business Intelligence tools like Looker, Power BI, etc.
  • Work with engineering teams to deliver the workflows the same way they were envisioned in the design process.
  • Verify and improve on designs through reviews, validations and formal usability testing with end users.
  • Have the ability to conduct Design Sprints, build rapid prototypes and test with real users. Speed and agility are extremely important.
  • Make sensible design decisions even when not all data is available and be able to identify and correct possible mistakes, both pre and post shipping of a product or a feature.
  • Take ownership of contributing to and evolving our design system.
  • Work with and mentor junior members of the team.

What we look for

  • 3 - 5 years of experience with UX Design preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.
  • Passionate about Design Thinking.
  • Strong advocate for the importance of UCD, research and testing, lean and agile methodologies.
  • Storytelling ability to tell simple user stories illustrating solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Agile, adaptable, and capable of delivering new products and features.
  • Possess a very high level of comfort in working with developers in the presentation layer (for example, HTML, CSS).
  • Good aesthetic sense and attention to detail.
  • Strong wireframing and prototyping skills.
  • Experience with conducting user research is a plus.
  • A solid portfolio demonstrating a history of crafting phenomenal experiences.

Base Salary Range: $119,000 - $150,000

CDK Global is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Compensation packages are based on several factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, certifications, and work location. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
