About the role
At Bitstack, we believe that great product & design are key to win in a competitive market. Since we operate without product managers, youll have the opportunity to lead projects end-to-end, from discovery to delivery, working side by side with engineers. What youll do
- Collaborate closely with engineering, care, and compliance to deliver impactful projects
- Lead end-to-end design initiatives, from idea to polished delivery, and take ownership for achieving their wins
- Create mockups, prototypes, and high-quality visuals with exceptional attention to detail
- Use and improve our lightweight design system components
- Communicate design decisions with clarity, inviting feedback while holding a strong vision
- Contribute to set the bar for design quality and the culture for how design works at Bitstack
What were looking for
- Proven track record of designing high-quality products at scale
- A portfolio featuring exceptional craft, taste, and problem solving
- Strong command of visual design, UI patterns, and interaction principles
- Experience with prototyping in Figma (and beyond with tools like AI)
- Ability to lead projects independently — from discovery to shipping
- Pragmatic mindset: you balance design quality with speed, business goals, and technical constraints
- Clear communicator who can distill feedback and articulate design decisions
Nice to have
- Experience working in a high performing, fast-paced start-up environment
- Experience designing and maintaining design systems
- Skills in motion design, micro-interactions, or brand design
- You are a designer who can code! (Perhaps with a little help from AI)
Interview Process
- Introductory Call (30 min)
A first conversation with Hugo (Product Design Lead) and Tom (People Lead) to get to know you and share more about the role. - Showcase Your Work
Instead of a traditional case study, well ask you to record a short Loom-type video where you walk us through some of your best work. - Task Review & Experience Discussion (60 min)
After you submit your Loom, well spend an hour together reviewing your work and diving deeper into your experience and design approach. - Founders Round (30 min)
A conversation with our founders to align on values, ways of working, and what its like to build at Bitstack.
