Senior UI / UX Designer

Job Description

Purpose of the role

To create user-centred and visually appealing designs for digital banking products by conducting user research, design of user interfaces and experiences, collaboration with stakeholders, and continuous improvement. 

Accountabilities

  • Execution of user research and usability tests to understand customer needs, pain points, and integrate feedback and preferences to banking products and services, through collaboration with various stakeholders, including product managers and developers.
  • Creation of intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for digital banking platforms and applications for a seamless and engaging user experience.
  • Design and maintenance of visually appealing and consistent user interfaces that align with the bank's brand identity and design guidelines across digital products.
  • Creation of wireframes and interactive prototypes for visualisation and testing of product concepts and features before development.
  • Accessibility considerations to ensure that designs comply with accessibility standards and guidelines to provide an inclusive experience for all users.
  • Monitoring of industry trends, design best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve the design quality and innovation of banking products.

Join us as a Senior UI/UX Designer - a critical component of our Agile Transformation Strategy. We are establishing a Design Centre of Excellence to embed Human-Centred Design across all delivery Tribes. Without this role, Tribes will lack essential design support, increasing the risk of developing solutions that are not user-led and may result in negative outcomes for our clients. 

This role will focus on developing products and features for our private banking and wealth management colleagues and customers. You will work closely with your cross-functional partners within a tribe and squad to create user-centred and visually compelling digital products for internal and consumer-facing use. Key responsibilities include conducting user research, designing intuitive user interfaces and experiences, collaborating closely with stakeholders, cross-functional partners and service designers to help drive continuous improvement and ensure our digital banking solutions meet user needs.

You will blend traditional UX/UI skills with an understanding of private bank user needs and processes, making it more specialised than standard digital product design roles.

To be successful as a Senior UI/UX Designer, you should have experience with:
