Experience Design (XD)

Bank of America’s Experience Design (XD) team creates world-class end-to-end digital experiences that are intuitive, innovative, engaging, and inclusive. We are a multi-disciplinary design organization with expertise across product design, user experience, conversational/AI design, creative direction, UX research and user testing, design program management, production design, content strategy, copywriting, and design technology. The team is constantly defining, iterating, solving problems, and working together to find ways all our digital platforms can empower customers to reach their financial goals by designing and delivering next-level experiences that provide ease, convenience, and safety while matching to individual needs and preferences.

Position: Senior Staff Experience Designer

Bank of America is looking for a Senior Staff Experience Designer that will be responsible for advanced craft delivery for an interdisciplinary product design team that delivers strategic and tactical solutions in support of a large business critical portfolio of work. The role will build cross-functional relationships beyond the immediate team, partnering with peers and stakeholders from across the organization to influence priorities with data and storytelling. This role ensures roadmap projects are delivered with high standards on experience quality, execution, and professionalism, delivering on-time and on-budget, while contributing to a culture of creativity, accountability, discourse, and measurable key results.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Staff Experience Designer, you will:

  • Design, optimize, and deliver useful and elegant best-in-class digital experiences from concept to execution and implementation, applying a broad range of product design capabilities.
  • Partner with a diverse set of project stakeholders and cross-functional teams, including product management and engineering.
  • Collaborate with researchers, technologists, designers, and delivery managers across the team.
  • Develop and deliver advanced experience design deliverables across the discovery and delivery design workflow without active guidance.
  • Act independently when incorporating feedback and completing tasks.
  • Design digital experiences across web, mobile web, and native apps (iOS and Android).
  • Support and leverage evaluative testing across the customer journey.
  • Evaluate and benchmark existing product and service experiences.
  • Participate actively in design critique and be available as a mentor to other designers.
  • Work on multiple complex designs/projects, managing time, estimates, and expectations with stakeholders across the organization and XD.
  • Drive timely, quality delivery by managing multiple projects and actively providing status updates.
  • Respect standards, reflect our design system patterns in work and champion best practices while helping set visions for innovative experiences.
  • Use excellent visual, communication, and storytelling skills.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industry design experience operating as an end-to-end multidisciplinary product designer.
  • An outstanding portfolio exemplifying expertise in experience design.
  • Solid experience designing multi-channel consumer-facing apps, responsive web and websites.
  • Proven understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices, and rapid ideation processes.
  • A track record of working with cross-functional product development and design teams.
  • Ability to work with and effectively adapt design systems while adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Highly proficient in design tools such as InVision, Sketch, and Figma.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with strong work ethic and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships.
  • Accountable for delivering complex end-to-end projects.
  • Strong interest in self-learning new design and technology skills.
  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with corresponding product design experience.
  • Financial or similar industry experience preferred.
  • Project management experience a plus.

Minimum Education Requirement

High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent.

Pay Transparency Details

  • Pay Range: $144,000.00 - $169,100.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education, and skill set.
  • Discretionary Incentive Eligible: This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
