Whats this role about?

As a UX designer driving the look and feel of our software, youll help Auvik challenge the status quo in our industry by offering simple and delightful experiences to technicians who manage network infrastructure. Youll be a product design champion, carefully nurturing the visual performance of our product with your top-notch creative and strategic design skills.

What will I be doing?

Drawing on both your creativity and passion for data, you will:

• Work in a rapid paced, small, agile team to help define and execute UX and product design across the Auvik software platform.
• Work closely with the product management and development teams to define the user experience and ensure high quality implementation of your designs.
• Conduct user research activities to better understand workflows and personas.
• Facilitate collaborative design jams and ideation sessions.
• Design user flows, wireframes, prototypes and mock-ups.
• Conduct user testing and customer interviews to assess usability and overall customer experience.
• Use data, metrics, and customer feedback to guide new design-related ideas and decisions.
• Find the sweet spot between customer needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
• Maintain a consistent design system and information architecture, and keep it current with changes over time.

What are we looking for?

• Education in UX design, or an equivalent field.
• Ability to execute a design process of research, ideation, and validation.
• Several years of UX design experience.
• Experience with user research and usability testing.
• Passion for simple and intuitive user-centred design.
• A fast learner who is comfortable working in a highly technical company.
• A critical eye for visual design.
• A great portfolio with work samples that demonstrate a diverse set of software designs.
• Highly proficient in Figma and Figma Make.
• Experience developing and maintaining reusable and scalable Asset Libraries.

Hiring Process

At Auvik, our hiring process is designed to be personal, transparent, and human-led. Our Talent Acquisition Partners review all resumes, connect with candidates whose skills and experience aligns with the role, and stay in communication with you throughout your journey. If our interests align, youll meet with a hiring manager, as well as additional members of the hiring team in follow-up conversations. All of your interviews will take place via Zoom.

Before meeting with a hiring manager, we also ask candidates to complete a 5-minute Predictive Index (PI) assessment. This helps us understand and match your strengths and work preferences with roles that will set you up for success.

We use AI tools to support administrative tasks in the hiring process; such as helping source candidates, drafting communications, and interview summaries, so our team can stay focused and present during conversations. We do not use AI tools to interview, screen or assess candidates; or determine who moves forward in the process. We debrief and consider the full context of every conversation before making hiring decisions. We believe hiring requires judgment that can be augmented but, not replaced by AI.

Compensation Details

At Auvik, our compensation philosophy is to be market competitive, reward performance, reflect our commitment to equity and maintain transparency with our employees. We have defined job levels and compensation ranges for each of our markets we employ, based on research from various sources of market data, which are reviewed on a regular basis.

The hiring range for this position is listed below. Compensation offered for candidates in this role is based on a number of factors including job-related skills, knowledge, and experience. These factors may cause your compensation to vary within the range outlined below.

In addition to cash compensation, all full-time employees are granted stock options to share in Auviks future successes. Auvik employees are eligible to participate in additional benefits and programs including our comprehensive health and dental benefits plan, Wellness spending account, GRSP matching program, flexible paid time off, paid parental leave program, and are eligible for remote working subsidies.

Salary Range: $87,500—$114,000 CAD
