Principal UX Design, Agentic AI, Velocity Labs
We are seeking a customer-obsessed Principal User Experience Designer to define, articulate, and champion the future vision for product experiences within our AWS Agentic AI organization. In this role, you will excel at investigating, understanding, and designing experiences that solve complex customer problems through innovative solutions. Your passion is translating abstract concepts into solid design deliverables such as complex workflows, wireframes, user interface designs, interaction models, and prototypes. The ideal candidate approaches challenges with clarity and empathy, inspires others, and is driven to solve problems at a massive scale. As a hands-on creative leader, you will establish a vision and strategy, always putting the needs of our customers first.
Key job responsibilities
- Deliver complex design solutions where the product strategy may not be fully defined
- Analyze customer problems and data to design delightful solutions at scale
- Lead strategic alignment across teams using expertise in UX disciplines and processes
- Create user-centered designs through research, analysis, and close collaboration with product and business partners
- Rapidly prototype user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to conceptualize new initiatives
- Communicate design work clearly to leadership and across different audiences
- Apply systems-level design thinking to drive scalable solutions
- Ship features from concept to design to implementation and through to roll-out
A day in the life
In this cross-functional role, you will collaborate with product teams, engineering teams, and executive leadership to identify and execute on opportunities. You will distill customer insights into actions that benefit the organization, serving as the voice of the customer with senior leadership. Youll be working within our Agentic AI organization, which is focused on developing autonomous AI systems that can handle complex workflows, make decisions, and solve problems with human-like reasoning capabilities. Were going beyond traditional chatbots to create more innovative solutions that drive efficiency gains. Operating as part of AWS, we build upon Amazons core infrastructure to advance agent-based AI technologies that are already showing impressive results, such as saving thousands of developer years in code transformation through products like Amazon Q Developer.

Basic Qualifications
- 12+ years of design experience
- Available online portfolio demonstrating design work
- Experience with best practices for User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design
- Experience in life cycle design projects from design strategy through execution
- Hands-on proficiency with design tools (Figma, Sketch, or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing and effectively communicating strategic and tactical recommendations based on data
- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure, Keynote, and InVision
- Experience designing for enterprise software or developer tools
- Experience with AI/ML products or complex technical domains
- Track record of mentoring designers and elevating team capabilities
- Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
