Kleinanzeigen Overview

Kleinanzeigen is the leading online classifieds market in Germany. An average of more than 50 million ads are available in numerous categories - from children's supplies to electronics to real estate. With more than 36 million users per month, Kleinanzeigen has the widest reach of all online selling platforms in the country. Most of the items traded on Kleinanzeigen are second-hand. In this way, users make an active contribution to sustainability. Kleinanzeigen allows companies the opportunity to easily offer their services online. Kleinanzeigen was launched in September 2009 as eBay Kleinanzeigen. Since June 2021, the company has been part of Adevinta, a leading global provider of online classified ads. In May 2023, the name was changed to Kleinanzeigen. Kleinanzeigen is part of Adevinta: a global online classifieds specialist and sustainability leader with 25+ products in 10 countries.

What you’ll do & Who you are

As a Product Designer in our department for professional sellers, you shape intuitive, trustworthy, and engaging experiences for professional sellers on Kleinanzeigen. You work across the entire product lifecycle, from early discovery to design delivery, partnering closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and data analysts to create solutions that help our commercial users grow their business.

We’re looking for a parental leave cover for approximately 14 months (depending on start date) to join us in this hybrid role. Our office is in Berlin-Charlottenburg and you report to the Team Lead UX.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct user research to extract insights and translate them into actionable hypotheses and product improvements for professional sellers.
  • Create and iterate design artifacts, including customer journeys, interaction flows, prototypes, and UI mockups, to explore and communicate design solutions.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative user data to inform decisions and continuously optimise product experiences.
  • Define end-to-end product solutions by designing clear, scalable patterns and components that support both seller-facing experiences and internal tools.
  • Facilitate workshops, ideation sessions, user interviews, and usability tests, and synthesise findings into design opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with PMs, engineers, researchers, and data analysts throughout the product development cycle, from discovery to delivery and iteration.
  • Contribute to a collaborative design culture by sharing ideas, participating in design reviews, and supporting high-quality design standards.

Who You Are

  • You have experience as a UX/UI, Product, or Interaction Designer in an agile environment, ideally within B2C platforms.
  • You bring strong interaction and systems-thinking skills, making complex workflows simple and intuitive.
  • You are comfortable working within a design system and ideally have contributed to or helped build one.
  • You enjoy running usability tests, interpreting findings, and turning insights into concrete improvements.
  • You actively seek feedback, communicate your design rationale clearly, and support a user-centred, collaborative design culture.
  • You are proficient in German and English, enabling you to conduct and analyse user tests with German-speaking participants.
  • You are adaptable and thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
